Is this the BEST year for indie games ever?

Best Indie Games Newsletter

Hello Indie Game Fan Reader!

It has been an absolutely insane year of indie games already, with Silksong & Hades 2 alone already dealing the deal for 2025, but we still have so many more great games such as Abiotic Factor, Slime Rancher 2, CloverPit, Expedition 33(?) and so much more!

Honestly pretty hard to beat, so if you can think of a better year, do let me know.

Reminder: if you're planning on buying anything, the Steam Autumn Sale is in the coming week, so maybe wait a day or two to see if it goes on discount.

Best Indie Games Newsletter By Clement • 02 November 2025 Hello Indie Game Fan Reader! If Halloween is a thing where you are, I hope you had fun! We took our kid to Trick or Treat in neighborhood in Singapore near the American School, whose residents went all out with the decorations and festivities, ending up with a huge bucket of candy which was then "the best day ever", score dad points for me. I didn't manage to get a photo but there was a kid who much has been like 13 or something in a...

Best Indie Games Newsletter By Clement • 26 October 2025 Hello Indie Game Fan Reader! I took a moment to look at the amazing indie game success stories this year, and man, it's great to see smaller teams / solo devs achieve big wins! The same story continues for some of the new releases this week, and there's a growing sentiment that the old model of large AA (40+ people) or AAA (100+ people) studios not working anymore. It's either you're super scrappy and lean (1-8 people) or massive...

Best Indie Games Newsletter By Clement • 19 October 2025 Hello Indie Game Fan Reader! I'm writing this email to you from a hotel lobby in Bangkok, having attended my once-a-year video game event in gamecom asia. It was awesome to meet developers, publishers and games industry people, and honestly, I would love to do so on a more regular basis, but alas, the day job calls and there's work to be done. I came across a number of interesting games which I will be sharing with you, but if you're...
